Daniel’s Story

A gentle voice worthy to be heard is the sound that vibrated from the mouth of an ambitious young man on a journey of self reliance. A gentle voice saying,  “I want to be able to give back - when I make it, we all made it.”

Daniel always wanted the best for himself and for others. He yearned for doing better and being at his best, not only for himself, but for those around him such as his family, friends and coworkers. He wanted his father, his grandmother, his brothers and sisters and friends and including me, his mother to be proud of the achievements that he had accomplished.

The future of his success was just in the beginning development stages of his life. Daniel had set goals for himself in a notebook. As he set out to achieve those goals he would mark them off one by one. Daniel had a passion for sneakers in which he was collecting for a shoe store he had always dreamed of owning. He was also an avid gamer, immersing himself in the art of gaming, learning how to build custom gaming computers. As his knowledge grow from working in different career paths from retail, logistics, and electrical engineering he had recognized that he wanted to explore new avenues of life in different parts of the country; therefore, he moved across country to pursue a career working with the railroad system.

Not knowing anyone on the west coast showed how determined Daniel was to pursuit his dreams. He proved how believing in himself that he would someday be that role model for those he left behind on the east coast. He inspired his brothers and closet friends to go for their destinies. He challenged them to grow and stride for their highest potential and not to stay idle.

He envisioned himself living in Texas, surrounded by his pets, in which he loved all sorts of animals from fish to frogs to turtles and dogs. I can also remember when Daniel was younger asking for a horse.  He always had this deep compassion for animals. Daniel, adopted a pet dog as his emotional support animal, his named was Split. In prior years he had lost a pet dog name Guardian, that he truly loved (woo did that child cry).

Daniel, 26 years old, was murdered by his female domestic partner in 2023. Less than two years of pursuing the life of the man he wanted to become his life was cut short. Daniel’s gentle voice will not be silenced by his death. We the people that knew and loved him will continually fight for justice for Daniel.

  • As a young girl growing up I wanted to have just enough confidence to speak my mind freely. As an adult pursuing my careers with the public, I wanted to conjure up enough confidence to communicate effectively about my businesses. As both I had small inspirations of speaking to audiences. I sometimes fantasized about having chats with audiences someday; But, never in a lifetime did I imagine I would be so eager to deliver a message of “Hope, Help, & Healing” to the masses.

August 07, 2023, my life forever changed. I was frantically wanting to wake up from a day terror only to come to terms that it’s not a dream. I’m wide awake in the afternoon, answering the phone at my place of employment not knowing it’s a call from the local sheriff office trying to locate me. I will never forget these words. Hello this is the Wake County Sheriff Department trying to locate Ms. Lineè Walker. Did I say, “my life has forever changed”?

I am Lineè, a mother of four wonderful children and an entrepreneur by heart. I earned associate degrees of Applied Science for Business Administration, Accounting, and Early Childhood Education. I am a licensed master cosmetologist (“CuteHair”) , a jewelry business owner (“Hooked on Jewels”), a networker (“LinqUp”), and a highly qualified instructional assistant within a public school system. I am also a “voice” for Daniel Walker, my son whom was murdered by his abusive female domestic partner (“Daniel’s Voice”), as well as an Advocate Against Domestic Abuse & Violence Towards Men, (“Daniel’s Den”).

Losing Daniel due to someone’s else abusiveness and negligence is the most traumatizing event I have ever experienced. The trauma of losing my first born child, to domestic gun violence, have impacted my life in ways I could have never imagined. I cannot sleep at night (diagnosed with insomnia), I have breakdowns and yes I am still grieving. It is hard! There is no closure insight, but somehow, no I take that back not somehow, but through the grace of my God I am able to live another day seeking justice for Daniel.

While waiting for justice for Daniel, it is my desire to help male victims of domestic abuse and violence break free of the stigmas against them and unsilence their voice. It is my desire to help males regain their life back after the trauma of abuse by creating positive pathways to healing. It is my desire to assist families that lost a love one due to domestic abuse and violence be able to become knowledgeable and receive available resources.

This is such a sensitive topic therefore I am grateful of the supporters and volunteers for compassion in helping bring the vision of hope to people that may need it. I am excited that Daniel’s Den will help men and their families through the trauma using a wholistic approach of healing (emotional, mental, psychological, spiritual) in a safe place. With the use of systematic tools and actions Daniel’s Den and I with go forth with intentional actions to help male victims seek justice.

As I am learning to live life without Daniel, I am here to also have humility towards others that lost their love one. I want to radiate beams of hope, joy, and peace. I will strive to present our love ones as people that deserve justice as a human right.
